Article summary

Weapons

Whoever said, “It’s not the weapon, it’s the helot behind it.” was an idiot. On unsanctioned barges, weapons are uncommon. These bouts will hardly draw enough attention to invest in top-of-the-line D-Mart weaponry. However, it isn’t unheard of to find a crude weapon stashed in a barge Crate or to have a hoarder produce one from an unmentionable location.

Drawing and Storing a Weapon

  • A helot must spend Action Points to draw or store a weapon, the amount spent is determined by the weapon.
  • A helot always has the option of dropping a weapon at (0) AP cost. This removes that instance of the weapon from the game.
  • When a weapon is drawn, the helot is in the Armed State.
  • A Weapon may restrict certain commands while in the Armed State.

Weapon Durability and Ammo

Weapon durability and ammo represent the number of times a weapon can be used before it breaks or runs out of ammo, becoming useless.

  • Weapon Ammo is expended each time it is used, regardless of the result.
  • Melee Weapon Durability is only decreased when an Attack Command is successfully defended.
  • Shield Weapon Durability is only decreased after a successful attack by the opposition upon the declared protected location.

Weapon Cards

WC_Back

Each card features a weapon type and its pertinent information.

IMPORTANT NOTE:

Your helot may only carry one weapon at a time. If it encounters another weapon, it must pick between them and the other is permanantly lost.

• Bola

Description: If your helot uses this weapon effectively, its opponent will start tripping and not in the fun way.
Ammo: (1) Shot
Draw/Store Cost: (1) AP
Line of Sight: Yes.
Optimal Range: (3) Squares
Damage: None.
Effect: If the Aim Attack is successful, the targeted helot is placed in the Prone State.
Armed Command Limitations: No Grappling while Armed with this weapon.

IMPORTANT NOTE:

Your helot may use a Wild Aim Action when attacking with this weapon and a successful attack will still result in the same effect.

• Net

Description: A large net that seems more inconvenient than menacing.
Ammo: (1) Shot
Draw/Store Cost: (3) AP
Line of Sight: Yes.
Optimal Range: (2) Squares
Damage: None.
Effect: If the Aim Attack is successful, the targeted helot still defends attacks as normal, but must spend all (6) Command Points to liberate itself during its next Command Round. There are no unspent point penalties while a helot is removing a net.
Armed Command Limitations: No Melee Attacks while Armed with this weapon.

IMPORTANT NOTE:

Your helot may use a Wild Aim Action when attacking with this weapon and a successful attack will still result in the same effect.

• One- handed Weapon

Armed Command Limitations: No Grappling or Focused Attacks while Armed with this weapon.

IMPORTANT NOTE:

Your helot may store the shield while declaring its back as a protected location, thus negating the Rear Attack Position Bonus; even against helots with shivs. This also frees the helot up to grapple and perform melee attacks as normal. Each attack from behind removes (1) durability from the shield regardless of the outcome.
